Automated Electrical Upsetting Cell |
|
![]() |
Recently Gatwick Fusion manufactured a fully automatic electrical upsetting cell for a company based in Argentina. This cell consists of three electrical upsetting machines (EU 32M) with auto load facility, component magazine / hoppers, and one robotic arm for transferring components from the Upsetters to a screw press. Each upsetting machine can operate on its own individual cycle and the cell dynamically adjusts to accommodate differences in cycle time between machines. The automated cell produces components on a continuous basis at a rate of 450 components per hour. |

The EU 32M has been specially developed for use in robotic cell operations. The Upsetting process has been refined to give greater consistency and control to the production of quality products. The interface between operative and machine is via an MMI screen. Each machine is fitted with a temperature sensor with set capacity band as defined by the operator. The EU 32M also includes features such as batch count and control, alarm facilities, error reporting, messages, and production data. To cope with long thin parts, side clamps have been added to minimise distortion during the Upsetting process. |
