AIR BAG CANISTER MACHINEForge force 12,000kg Model Number GBF/MTI Model 15
Direct Drive welder (Air Bag canisters)(1996). When it was removed from site it was a fully working model, producing passenger side airbags in steel with a 63 mm diameter and 2mm wall. The machine had no tolerance issues.
The machine was working 3 shifts at 20 hours per day for 6 days per week. When the machine was removed it was carefully dismantled and all hydraulic connections and electrical connections were tagged. Guarding not available The Electrical cabinets are supplied with the equipment but as the control was interlinked to the customers business system and controlled using a dedicated and special 286PC it is the opinion of FPE/Gatwick that the machine will not run with this control and it is recommended that a new control system is fitted

Machine in production environment before removal Resistance Welding AIR BAG IGNITOR- PROJECTION WELDER
The equipment consists of a substantial ‘L’ shaped frame with precision machined horizontal bed, and vertical mounting surfaces. Mounted to the top-plate of the frame is a precision weld head with substantial twin rail linear guided top electrode guide system, capable of delivering a weld force in excess of 700Kgf. (1500lbf) The electrode assembly is from M100 hard chrome copper electrode material with suitable datum locations to control the orientation of the ignitor. The component nest is fitted with light spring fingers to accept the canister from operator, and hold it against the ‘V’ location. The slide has a removable base packing piece to enable different length canisters to be accommodated, placing the end cap in a similar position with respect to the machine.
The component is held against the peripheral location via substantial pneumatically operated De-Starco over-centre clamp unit. Below the location, suitable electrodes are fitted to locate around the majority of the airbag canister to provide a symmetrical current path through the end cap. The weld head is fitted with a load cell mounted between the pneumatic operating cylinder and the secondary welding circuit to provide a direct reading of the electrode weld force. The weld head is operated from a B. F. Entron WS700, synchronous AC weld controller mounted adjacent to the cell electrical enclosure. Price £21,000 ex works in current configuration |
