Forward Precision Equipment (FPE) has the distinction of designing and manufacturing automatic welders and special purpose industrial machinery specific to the exact needs of international clients across many industries since 1969. Each project is specially designed from concept to fit the client's specifications and developed with all the client's requirements in mind. Just one example of the automatic welders we produce is the Potentiometer Wiper Sleeving Machine. These automatic welders are used to semi-automate the process of adding insulation to a resistor wiper. Resistor wipers are used to measure the electrical resistance over a surface using very fine strands (legs) that require insulation. Formerly, this process of attaching the insulation to the legs was performed entirely by hand because it is such a delicate task. However, FPE has designed a machine that has achieved excellent results while increasing the output of insulated resistor wipers. Typically the wipers are manufactured from materials 0.7mm thick with manufacturing tolerance below 0.01 mm.
